David Laurin is a crafts person and designer currently based in so-called Ontario, Canada. Having first studied philosophy at the University of Toronto, David’s love of craft and design was fostered during his time in the furniture studio at Sheridan College. Primarily a furniture maker, David enjoys exploring a variety of mediums including wood, textiles and ceramics. His work sits at the cross roads of traditional craft and modernist fabrication methods. David’s work is influenced mostly by modernist architecture and the legacy of craft labour of which he is a part.
